Keeping Your Credit Safe While You Adopt

Security is on everyone's minds these days, and with good reason.  If you're careful and take a few steps to prevent problems in advance, you shouldn't have anything to worry about in your adoption journey.  Here is a little-known fact that might help you.

Did you know that you can take advantage of federal law requiring each of the national credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union) to provide you with a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months?  These reports will show you if someone has opened a credit account in your name.  You can request free credit report from a different agency every four months at Annual Credit Report.  Remember there are companies of similar names that request credit card numbers before providing you with a report and then bill you for a credit monitoring service.  This is not what you are looking for.  The report you're looking for is free.
